Guwahati: Congress on Tuesday began a Bharat Jodo Yatra Cassam from Dhubri district.
In the next 70 days, he will cover a distance of 834 km, said a party leader.
In addition to the 3,570-km Kanyakumari to Kashmir yatra, the Congress organizes several sub-radars in states where the main yatra will not pass.
This rally, which is part of the campaign to revive the old party across the country, started in Golokganj, a town on the border between India and Bangladesh, in the presence of senior party leaders.
Congress national general secretary-cum-in-charge of Assam unit Jitendra Singh, APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah, Lok Sabha MP Pradyut Bordoloi, and other senior leaders of the state unit were present.
“It is the collective response of the Congress to save the country and the state from the anti-BJP policies. We started the yatra from Golokganj and it will move across Assam to finally reach Sadiya in the east of the state,” Borah said. said so.
Before starting the yatra, the party leaders offered prayers at a temple, satra, mosque, and gurudwara. The Satra (Vaishnavite monastery) is located 100 meters from the international border.

From Dhubri, the yatra will pass through Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Nalbari, Kamrup, Guwahati, Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia to reach Sadiya.
