A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times in the torso on Upper Giles Road, St Michael, in the area known as Greenfield.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released to the public, police said, adding that he was shot by a motorcycle rider. The woman was standing outside a house in the district.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private vehicle for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Two men on a motorcycle reportedly escaped along Upper Roebuck Street towards Tweedside Road.
Police received a report at the operations control room around 10.40 am and investigations are on.
