CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) — The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a shooting Sunday night left one person seriously injured.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Andrew Knapp said the man was walking along Storage Road near Highway 162 when a vehicle drove up and a man opened fire from behind.
The young man was taken to Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital by his girlfriend shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, Knapp said. The man was transported to MUSC with multiple gunshot wounds, which were serious but not life-threatening, Knapp said.
“Deputies canvassed the area near where the incident was reported, but they did not immediately find evidence of a gunshot,” Knapp said.
Knapp said deputies are trying to determine if the shooting is connected to another shooting Saturday night.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office at 843-202-1700 or Crimestoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111.
