Guwahati: The famous Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is currently filming the movie ‘Emergency’ in Assam, visited Guwahati on Saturday, as the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. On Saturday, the ‘Queen’ star took to her Instagram and shared her gratitude to Assam’s “honourable” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, captioning the post, “Such a pleasure to meet the Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji….He extended his support to our team when we were soon to start our overseas schedule in different parts of Assam. I am so honored and privileged to have his support and encouragement.Thank you sir.” The meeting was said to be in honor of the 35-year-old star.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted footage from the meeting and wrote, “Extremely happy to meet actor, writer and filmmaker Kangana Ranaut Ji in my office today. I am happy. that she will shoot one of her productions in Assam. I have thanked her and assured her of all help for her production.”

The ‘Queen’ actor was seen gifting Sarma in a brief glimpse of the meeting. After this, Sarma can be seen giving Kangana a traditional Assamese outfit. In her upcoming drama ‘Emergency’, Kangana will be seen portraying the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. ‘Hurry’ marks Kangana’s first solo film. Apart from Kangana, the film stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair and Shreyas Talpade in prominent roles. The official release date of the film is still awaited.
Talking about Kangana’s upcoming projects, ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ is Kangana’s first project under Manikarnika Films. The film is directed by Sai Kabir and stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in the lead roles. The film is set to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The official release date of the makers is still awaited.
