YBOR CITY, Fla. – A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in Ybor City early Sunday morning.
According to the Tampa Police Department, shortly before 3 a.m. at the intersection of N 16th Street and E 7th Avenue, several people got into a physical altercation and 21-year-old Jatoni Tykies Torres attacked and shot the victim.
He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition but died.
Multiple officers were on the scene at the time of the shooting as bars and nightclubs closed and were working to disperse crowds.

Officers heard the gunshots and immediately began chasing Torres, who fled on foot, according to TPD. Police say he was apprehended three blocks south of the intersection of 16th St. and E 4th Ave. Officers also recovered a gun.

Torres is charged with first degree premeditated murder.
Tampa police are trying to identify a second man who was armed and opened fire during the ordeal. However, there is no indication that he has beaten anyone.
Police have arrested a man who they say shot and seriously injured another in Ybor City.
