Police have released CCTV footage as they search for four men and a woman after a fatal shooting in Brisbane’s south-west yesterday.
The 38-year-old man was shot dead in front of his house in Cliveden Avenue, Oxley, at 3.25am.
The footage shows two people walking towards an object as a car continues to drive past.
Detective Inspector Andrew Massingham said up to four men and a woman attended the residence yesterday and began assaulting a male resident.
“At the time, the deceased male was sitting in his vehicle directly opposite the address. When he saw this happening, the deceased left his vehicle and confronted the people in front,” Massingham said.
Massingham said the group had at least two firearms, including a shotgun.
“The deceased male was struck at close range and we believe the weapon involved was a 12-gauge shotgun,” Massingham said.
TheMassingham said it was unclear how the five people involved left the scene.
“We believe it’s probably a vehicle, but we’re appealing to the public for anyone who saw movement in the area around 3.25am,” he said.
Massingham revealed that the occupant, the deceased and the perpetrators were “engaged in an argument” inside the house where the alleged assault occurred.
“It’s been happening for a while,” he said.
