According to the organization, most of the questions raised in the past were about family, relations between neighbors, wealth, work and land management.

The Jeune Barreau de Montréal has provided this service twice a year since 2018. Last year, more than 4,000 calls from the public were received.

In an interview, the president of JBM Alexandra Paquette said that not all the issues that arose during the free clinic will be resolved immediately, but the participants will come with solutions to their problems.

He added that although the organization’s offices are in Montreal, the phone line is open to all residents of Quebec and can be used for people who live far from the cities.

Since 1898, JBM has brought together lawyers with 10 years or less of practice in Montreal. One of its goals is to facilitate access to justice, which explains the idea behind the legal clinic.
