Six people have been arrested in connection with four separate shootings in the Peel region over three months.
In a news release Saturday evening, Peel Regional Police announced the arrests in the shootings that took place between Aug. 13 and Oct. 3.
Police say multiple residential units and vehicles were hit in all incidents. They added that a 27-year-old man was critically injured in a shootout.
As a result of the multi-unit investigation, four illegal handguns and more than 50 rounds of ammunition were seized and more than 30 charges were laid, police said.
The six suspects have been identified as 20-year-old Kevonte Marksman, 20-year-old Elijah Kerridge-Lal, 20-year-old Shamar Lindsey, 20-year-old Neyshan Oakley, 19-year-old Marquez Sr., 21. -aged Tianthoni Ye-Brown.
