On October 25, 2022 at 10:51 am Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to District 5 (Fort Erie) responded to a residential address in the area of Village Creek Drive between Old Mill Road and Ott Road for a report of a shooting. Town of Fort Erie.
Upon arrival officers found an elderly male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was evaluated by Niagara Emergency Medical Services (NEMS) paramedics and transported to a trauma center for advanced medical care. The victim is now in stable condition.
Detectives assigned to 5 District Criminal Investigative Branch took charge of the investigation. They are supported by members of the Forensic Services Unit. Detectives can confirm this was a targeted incident because the suspect and victim knew each other.
Ainla Mustafa Hassan North York (age 30) is currently required by the Criminal Code for aggravated assault.
Hassan is described as:
– Male
– Black
– 5’8” height
– 190 lbs
– Dark hair in braids
– Wearing gray or black clothing (possibly a tracksuit)
The vehicle driven by Hasan is as follows:
– 2008 Chevrolet Malibu
– Ontario registration #CWXJ 443
– Brown color
– 4 doors
Hasan is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. The public who knows Hasan’s whereabouts or the location of the vehicle he was driving is urged to contact 911 immediately.
Detectives are asking residents of Village Creek Drive and the surrounding area to review their CCTV footage and contact the lead detective with any relevant information at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009525.
