Guwahati: The militant group Dimasa National Liberation Tribal (DNLT), formed less than a month ago in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts of Assam, has been “neutralized” by arresting “all cadres”, the police said. said on Wednesday.
Haflong Battalion of the Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles, under the Headquarters of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), along with Police Dima Hasao arrested two active cadres of DNLT.
These cadres have been pursued for the past few days while they are on the run and have fled from their Haflong Brigade camp.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered. The arrested cadres were transferred to Maibong police station, Dima Hasao.
Director General of Assam Police (Law and Order) Gyanendra Pratap Singh said that this organization was established on September 13 in the two mountainous districts of the region.
“DNLT militant organization floated on September 13 in Dima Hasao/Karbi Anglong districts was eliminated by @assampolice with arrest of all seven leaders/cadres and recovery of arms and explosives,” he tweeted.
