Guwahati: In an unusual incident in Cachar district of Assam, the principal of a primary school was suspended after he came to school with a machete.
The video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting the education department and the local police to take action against the teacher.
The teacher has been identified as Dhritimedha Das, a resident of Tarapur area of Silchar. He was a teacher at Radhamadhab Buniyadi School for more than 11 years.
On Saturday, the local police received a call from the school administration and rushed to find the head teacher roaming the campus with a machete.
Police said the head teacher was frustrated and angry because of the mistakes made by other teachers and was only trying to warn them by showing them the machete.
Although the teacher has been suspended, he has not yet been arrested as no official complaint has been filed.
