Two minor brothers, who were allegedly abducted from their home in Assam’s Nagaon district, were rescued from neighboring Karbi Anglong district on Saturday, police said.
The father of the missing boys registered a case at the Batadrava police station in Nagaon on Friday, they said.
The boys were abducted on Thursday while they were playing in front of their house in Bherberi village, police said.
The father of these boys reported his complaint to a woman, and the police tracked her down to the cell tower where she was.
“When the location was confirmed, which is the district of Karbi Anglong, we contacted the police there, and in a joint operation today, we rescued the two boys from the Diphu bus. The woman and man were arrested. They have confessed to the kidnapping,” said a police officer.
Further investigation is underway, he said.
