Deputy counsel Vandana Venkatesh will replace Silliman as chief legal officer, Verizon said.
“These moves will speed up our efforts to drive efficiency, and allow us to return savings in network efficiency and customer growth,” said Hans Vestberg, CEO. Verizon parent, said in a statement.
Verizon, which lowered its annual forecast in July due to lower consumer spending and more competition, will discuss the economic benefits of Verizon Global Services in October 21 when he reports his third income.
Silliman, an 11-year veteran of Verizon, held several positions at the company that last year had $133.6 billion in revenue.
Venkatesh, a 19-year-old Verizon native, began his legal career as a partner at the former Bingham McCutchen law firm.
Vestberg said he is “a proven leader with extensive experience across a variety of legal and business sectors.”
