A video has surfaced on the internet showing a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) shooting candy at children on Halloween. US soldiers get into the Halloween spirit at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
The viral video was posted on Twitter by US Army Fort Sill. The short clip shows Himers shooting candies quickly taken by children dressed for Halloween. Along with the clip, “How do you expect us to give candy to kids on Halloween? Fire mission!!!” was the caption.

The 1-78 Field Artillery Battalion carried out the bombardment from Himars. The Himars is a lightweight multiple rocket launcher developed by the US Army in the late 1990s. According to the BBC, the Himars is a five-tonne truck-mounted missile launcher that can rapidly fire six guided missiles.
The US is giving Ukraine Himars to help turn the war in Kyiv’s favor.
The viral video has had a mixed reaction on the internet. One user wrote, “Am I the only one who finds this horrifying and totally tone deaf … using a weapon system designed to inflict brutal carnage (including cluster munitions with hundreds of bomblets or tens of thousands of shrapnel) to shoot candy. Kids?” Another user commented, “Everything that happened to America in one tweet.”
“I wonder why they chose a rainy day? 350 days out of every year it doesn’t rain in F. Sil,” commented a third.
“Did you see how tall that candy bar was? That’s right, it was a high Mars,” expressed the fourth.
