The following is a press release from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office:
Walker, La. (WAFB) – Sheriff Jason Ard confirms that three individuals are in custody in connection with an October 30, 2022 incident in which a man was shot in the back.
Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘LPSO deputies were dispatched to Larry Drive. The incident happened after midnight. Upon arrival, the victim, an 18-year-old male, was in need of emergency medical attention. taken for care. An LPSO detective has been assigned to investigate. Our detectives learned that the three suspects traveled to Larry Drive to purchase illegal drugs from the victim. All three are not from Livingston Parish, but are believed to have ties here — particularly in the Walker area. During the exchange, the trio attempted to rob the victim. The victim fled the scene of the transaction. That’s when one of the suspects opened fire with a weapon. The victim was hospitalized and is currently in stable condition. This is still a very active investigation.’
