Orange County, Fla. — A woman, her two daughters and one of their granddaughters died after being shot inside their Orange County home early Friday, Sheriff John Mina said.
Deputies said the woman’s other daughter showed up at a home off Myers Drive shortly after 4 a.m. claiming she had been shot.

Mina said the man who shot them, 23-year-old Shawal Jones, is in hospital after being shot in the head and undergoing surgery. Mina said if Jones gets away, she will be charged with murder.
Investigators said Jones was related to one of the slain daughters. Mina said Jones and the woman got into an argument and Jones began moving her belongings out of the house before coming back into the house and starting shooting.

Mina said her surviving daughter is the mother of the 4-year-old boy who was killed, and two other children, ages 4 and 6, were safely hiding under blankets inside the house.
Mina did not name the dead women but said they were 49, 29 and 28 years old.

Mina said Jones has no criminal history other than a charge of failure to appear in a misdemeanor case. He said there was no recorded history of family-related domestic or dating violence calls.
A crew at Channel 9 is trying to gather more details in the east Orange County neighborhood where the shooting took place.
