Through a public information request, FOX 5 has learned that PGCPS paid more than $32,000 to Miller’s attorney, Marcus Bonsib, LLC.
Board members said the fees were never approved by the school board. Board member David Murray said this is the first he has heard of the charges.
“It’s very lazy and a waste of taxpayer money,” Murray said. “It’s money meant for children.”

Murray said that if the board doesn’t agree, it’s a misallocation of money.
“We need to get this money back, and I’m also concerned because this legal tab is still going on because Dr. Miller is stepping down from the board, there’s a hearing coming up this month,” Murray said. .
A spokesperson for PGCPS said the payments were not authorized by the school district, but by the board, although the bills were paid by the PGCPS finance department. He directed us to board leadership, Chair Miller and Vice Chair Sonya Williams, to answer questions.
