Guwahati: Governor of Kasam Jagdish Mukhi said that the future of the country will be determined by the ability to provide the youth with high quality educational opportunities in the next ten years.
“India will have the largest youth population in the world in the next decade. In this context, our ability to provide quality education opportunities will determine the future of our country,” Mukhi said. was attending a book release function on ‘National Education Policy (NEP) 2020: Pathway for North East India)’ at the National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA) here on Friday.
Speaking at the launch of the book, he said, “We all know that education is fundamental to achieving full human potential, developing an equal and just society. International high-quality education is the best way to develop and enhance our country’s rich talent and resources for the benefit of the individual, the community and the country.”
Mukhi said that NEP 2020 is a future plan that can strengthen the growth and development of the nation.
“The policy lays out a comprehensive plan for reforming India’s education system, from pre-primary to higher education,” he said.
However, the implementation and adaptation of the policy requires serious follow-up from all relevant parties. Institutions of higher learning should formulate their strategies to ensure the implementation of the NEP, both in writing and in spirit,” he added. The chairman further said that the NEP was the first education policy of the 21st century which was aimed at reforming the education environment in the country.
“NEP 2020 is a step towards achieving the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals which aims to ensure quality, inclusive and equitable education and promote lifelong learning opportunities by 2030,” he said.

Lauding the efforts of NLUJA, the Chairman said that the book ‘National Education Policy, 2020: The Way Forward (With Special Focus on North East India)’ is a commendable initiative of the academy.
The book focuses on the Northeast region and is expected to discuss implementation techniques that are relevant to the movement in the region.
Another promising aspect of the book is that he has endeavored to bring together diverse and multi-disciplinary perspectives to contribute to the understanding of the various issues in the North East and provide solutions to stimulate growth. and regional development.
