Kolkata: The crisis in the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continues with the ruling party ordering immediate removal of its legislative head.
This move came after the IT head of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in the state lodged an FIR at the Posta police station in Kolkata, accusing him of mental and physical torture.
Both the accuser and the accused are male. However, it has been reported in the complaint that the leader of the legal team of the party in the state sought help for the man from the head of the BJYM IT.
It is believed that they were on their way to Sikkim for partying when the incidents took place. They were accompanied by two personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) – as part of a security detail – the accused said.
These security personnel allegedly threatened him after he refused and also confiscated his mobile phone and other belongings on the train from New Jalpaiguri back to Kolkata.
It was only after a crowd gathered outside Sealdah station that his belongings and phones were returned, the accused said.
According to reports, Delhi officials are very upset over this development and have directed the state leaders to look into the matter and submit a report.
The head of the law should also be removed from all positions in the group, pending an inquiry. The head of BJYM IT will also be interviewed.
“The West Bengal unit of the party is in a bad mood at a crucial time when the state is gearing up for the Panchayat elections. Such bad moods are not needed. There is a lot of fighting against the state party, and there are many times leaders were warned not to blow their mouths in public against each other.
“Not only the Trinamool Congress, but also the CPI-M is taking advantage of this situation. More importantly, the people of the state are losing faith in the local leaders. It is not Surprisingly, they find it difficult to mobilize people for protests and demonstrations at such a critical time. This leads to frustration and then the leaders blame each other,” said a top official in Delhi. .
The state’s BJP has lost its chance to take control of the Trinamool Congress over alleged fraud in the education department.
The CPI-M, on the other hand, has gained political ground, using these allegations and the arrest of senior Trinamool Congress leaders on corruption charges, as a weapon.
