‘I was speechless’: Neighbors react to shooting, suspect hunt in Henry County – WSB-TV Channel 2 | Media Pyro

A day later, Henry County Sheriff’s deputies are still making their presence known on the streets near Hopewell Place and Baylor Circle.

It’s near the site of Friday’s fatal shooting.

Sharif also made a very public promise that very day.

“Mr. Thomas, I suggest you turn yourself in, for we shall not eat, sleep, or rest till you turn yourself in.”

The search continues for the suspected shooter, Brentson Bernard Thomas.

Authorities said Thomas had two large New Orleans Saints tattoos on his neck.

As of Saturday, police have located the gray four-door Toyota Camry he was last seen in.

Detectives hope a $20,000 reward will help lead to Thomas’ release.

A Henry County Detention Officer was shot at the Haddon Place Apartments. He was taken to hospital in critical condition. The second person who was shot also died of his injuries.

“I’m shocked. I’m speechless. I’m devastated,” said Keela Lanier, a resident Channel 2’s Veronica Griffin.

“He was very sweet, a gentle soul, a very nice young man. “I am truly saddened by this loss,” Lanier said.

While Lanier is still reeling from the news of the double shooting and loss of life, her thoughts are with the family.

“So, I’m praying for both parties,” Lanier said. “Praying for everyone’s family some peace and condolences.”
