PHILADELPHIA (AP): Nine people were injured in a shooting outside a Philadelphia bar Saturday night.
The Philadelphia Police Department said the victims were shot near Allegheny and Kensington avenues around 10:45 p.m.
Police said the gunmen got out of a black vehicle parked in the middle of the block and fired about 40 rounds at nine people, WPVI-TV reported.
Nine injured people were admitted to the hospital. WPVI-TV reported that two people were in critical condition and the others were in stable condition.
The police informed that no arrests have been made immediately and they are searching for the accused.
Deputy Police Commissioner John Stanford said police could not immediately determine a motive for the shooting.
“At this point, it appears these individuals identified someone they wanted to shoot at and got out of the vehicle and started shooting at the group of individuals present. “We don’t have much more than that in terms of motivation,” Stanford said.
Stanford told WCAU-TV that officers were in the area when they heard gunshots.
“Our men and women are where they should be in the sense that they’re patrolling here, but there are some shameless individuals in this city that we don’t care about,” he said. “They don’t care how many police officers are here, and some of them don’t care how many people are here.”
