Abhayapuri (Assam) [India]November 6 (ANI): Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Bhupen Kumar Borah said the people of Assam will “throw” the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) into the Brahmaputra river in the coming days. .
Calling for AIUDF and BJP joint forces, Bhupen Kumar Borah said, people of Assam will not accept communal forces like AIUDF and BJP.
“People have now realized that coalition forces like AIUDF and BJP are not good for society,” he added.
“Assam is an integrated society, a society rich in culture, and people have now decided to throw the joint forces into the Brahmaputra river,” Bhupen Kumar Borah said.
Speaking about the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Assam launched by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on November 1 in Dhubri, the Assam Congress chief said that they have received good response from the general public so far.

“Rahul Gandhi is our leader and we are following his path, so we have completed the six-day Bharat Jodo Yatra in Assam which started from Dhubri on November 1. We will cover 13 districts, 46 constituencies and nine member states. parliament, and we will work on it. covering 835 km in 60 days. Today is the sixth day and we have completed almost 70 km. Tomorrow we will start from Bongaigaon,” Bhupen Kumar Borah said.
He further said that Assam is the strong base of Congress, but due to wrong strategy in the last assembly elections, the party lost many seats.
“Now people of Assam have realized, BJP made several promises including job creation, will control price rise, flood control will give ST status to six communities, etc in the last elections, but they have completely failed. to fulfill their promises. People are very disillusioned with BJP, the current government of Assam is running on loans, the government has already taken more than Rs 1.15 crore as debt, this government is a bankrupt government, 25 lakh youth are unemployed. are in Assam. In the last six and a half years the BJP-led government in Assam has provided employment to only 50,000 youth,” said Bhupen Kumar Borah.
He also said that the alliance with AIUDF was the wrong step taken by the Congress leadership.
“Because of this, the Congress party lost many seats in the last Assembly elections in Upper Assam. People now again want Congress, not communal forces. People are now supporting us. We are looking for more support from the people of Assam. .” said the Assam Congress chief. (ANI)
