BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – A man initially arrested in connection with a shooting early Sunday morning is facing a murder charge after the victim’s death.
According to the Bowling Green Police Department, officers responded to the 3000-block of Spring Hollow Sunday morning for a report of a shooting.
The victim, Adrian J. Starks walked into a neighbor’s apartment to report that someone had shot him.
Officers arrested the suspect, Michael McAthran. Officers found him hiding in a bedroom. Officers charged McCathren with first-degree assault at the time of his arrest.
The victim was in a critical condition at the time of the shooting. However, he later died.
McCathran now faces charges of murder, possession of a defaced firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
He is being held at the Warren County Regional Jail. Police have not released a motive or motive behind the shooting in their initial statement.
