Guwahati: Deputy Minister of the Ministry Himanta Biswa Sarma On Saturday, 655 youths who have been appointed to various government jobs were handed over appointment letters by various cadres of government employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarma said that the qualified individuals should be selected efficiently and ethically for the various positions in the states, saying that the current government has introduced talented young people.
The Chief Minister has asked the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) to conduct the General Engineering Entrance Test to select engineers from all technical departments every year by providing for holding a lottery for allotment of successful candidates’ departments.
He also asked APSC for the option of departmental transfer as per departmental requirements.
Sarma called on the newly appointed officials to devote their professional lives to serving the poor and common people of the state.
Referring to the new wave of digitization and technological advancement in the country, Sarma asked the new officials to master the use of tools to serve the people better.
