A young mother died Tuesday in a drive-by shooting at a home in southeast Oklahoma City.
Police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Princess Stevenson, but they have collected video of the suspect’s car.
Stevenson was holding her 4-month-old baby when he drove up in a black car and opened fire on the family, authorities said. A quiet evening in a neighborhood near Southeast 51st Street and East Avenue was disrupted by gunshots.

“We put our phones on hold, put the TV on hold,” neighbor Karina Love said. “We kept hearing them go and when we noticed that we went to the front door and heard screaming.”
Stevenson and her baby were shot. The woman was taken to a local hospital in a private car but did not survive the gunshot injuries.
“The infant she was holding also suffered non-life threatening injuries to her leg,” said Sergeant Dylan Quirk of the Oklahoma City Police Department. “The boy will be fine.”
Neighbors said there were several other children and adults at the targeted home who may have been shot. Home security cameras caught a brief glimpse of the suspect car fleeing.
“That’s not why we bought the cameras, but that’s what we’ve been using them for lately,” said neighbor Patty Delgado.
Cameras captured Delgado in a car involved in another drive-by shooting just a few blocks away. An innocent 9-year-old boy was killed in a shooting last month.
Delgado, a grandmother of 10, is now worried about her family’s safety.

“My grandkids usually play in my yard when they come here,” Delgado said. “I can’t let them do that now.”
Police are investigating the motive behind the city’s latest deadly gun attack.
“Hearing that so close to home is heartbreaking, scary and crushing,” Love said.
