Babar is currently the only Platinum player for Zalmi, who also received the first pick in the supplementary draft in the trade. Similarly, Haider is currently the only Kings player in the Platinum category, while Malik joins Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir in Diamond.
During the trade and hold window, each side could sign up to eight players. At the draft, they can increase their squad size to 18. In total, teams can select up to three in Platinum, Diamond, and Gold, five in Silver, two in New, and two in additional categories.
Lahore Qalandars, the defending champions, have retained their core set of players with the exception of Fakhar Zaman. ESPNcricinfo understands Qalandar will still pick Fakhar as the franchise opens the draft with its first platinum pick. The Qalandars retained Rashid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, David Wiese, Abdullah Shafiq, Harry Brook and Kamran Ghulam. Zaman Khan will continue to represent Qalandars as their new player. However, they parted ways with Mohammad Hafeez.
493 foreign players in various categories are registered for the draft; most from England (140), followed by Sri Lanka (60), Afghanistan (43), West Indies (38), Bangladesh (28), South Africa (25), Australia (14), Zimbabwe (11) and Ireland (9). Of them, 29 are listed in the Platinum category and 81 in the Diamond category. More details about the project will be announced later.
The 2023 season will begin on February 9 and the final will be held on March 19. Four stadiums will host the matches: Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Multan. the entire tournament will be held in only two centres, Lahore and Karachi.
