JACKSON, MI – A man accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend’s new man has been charged with attempted murder.

Christian Scott Gorsen, 20, was charged Thursday, Nov. 3, with felony intent to murder, after he allegedly shot and killed a stable man with three gunshot wounds.

The Jackson Police Department said the charges stem from an incident on Nov. 1 at 9:24 p.m. in the 1400 block of Pringle Avenue in Jackson.

Police said they told officers on their way to the area that they saw a blue SUV fleeing the scene and drove to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital.

Officers arrived to find a 28-year-old man lying in a pool of blood and a woman with facial injuries from the vehicle, police said.

The man was shot at least three times and immediately underwent surgery. The police informed that his health condition is now satisfactory.

Investigators determined the two were leaving the Pringle Avenue residence when Gorzen, the woman’s ex-boyfriend, arrived with several other people, police said.

An argument ensued, and when the couple tried to flee the home, Gorzen opened fire on the vehicle and shot the victim as he fled, police said.

Police have confirmed the shooting is unrelated to a previous shooting that left a teenager dead while attending a Halloween party on Pringle Avenue on Saturday.

He remains in the Jackson County Jail on $250,000 bond.
