Guwahati, Nov 6: A total of 27 students received a scholarship created by former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi today at the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam.
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to needy and meritorious students to enable them to pursue a law course.
Students pursuing a five-year law degree either in Assam or any state across the country were awarded the scholarship today. This scholarship was created by former CJI, who is also a member of Rajya Sabha. His salary and allowance as a member of parliament was created through the scholarship.
A total of 27 students have been selected for the scholarships for the academic year 19 students from law colleges across the red state, 2 students from National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam while 6 others are pursuing college studies. other law as well as various National Law Universities in the country.
Also, 2 students studying at different National Law Universities in the country who will be selected by the CAN Foundation in time will be awarded the scholarship, as they requested. The CAN Foundation is the alumni organization of the National Law Universities of the country.
Scholarship checks were presented by Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Rashmin Manoharbhai Chhaya to selected students of various law colleges of Assam including NLUJA. Scholarship checks for students pursuing their studies in law colleges and national law universities outside Assam will be sent to their institutions.
