Guwahati, Nov 13 (IANS): A man killed his son in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, police said on Sunday.
A senior police officer informed that the incident took place on Saturday evening when a person identified as Sahinur Ali stabbed his father. The incident took place in the village of Salakati in the district.
The deceased was named Bahar Ali.
Residents said that there was a heated fight between Sahinur Ali and his father based on family issues, which later led to the death of Bahar Ali.
After the attack on his son, Bahar Ali was rushed to the nearby civil hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem. Sahanur Ali escapes.
His mother Anuara Begum demanded that her son be arrested immediately and severely punished.
The police have launched an operation to find the accused.
According to sources, Anuara Begum is a mother of four sons and three daughters.
