Sarma said AFSPA has also been removed from various districts of Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur.
He asked ULFA(I) chief Paresh Barua to come for peace talks. Sarma distributed monetary donations to 318 militants who surrendered to six militant organizations who decided to join the community.

The minister said that the government is thinking about how to employ the unemployed youth. He said that the youth who surrendered and will manage the government’s finances well will also benefit from other government schemes in the future.
