Guwahati: Tokyo Olympic medalist and Indian boxer, an Assamese girl, Lovlina Borgohain Visited Royal Global University on 17th November for a cultural and interactive session with Royalites.
Dr. AK Pansari, Honorable Chancellor, The Assam Royal Global University, Prof. (Dr.) SP Singh, Vice Chancellor, Ankur Pansari, Executive Vice President, Gyan Sagar Foundation, and other senior members of the fraternity felicitated Borgohain with phoolam gamusa and painting commissioned by Royalite.
The boxer, who was escorted to the stage by an enthusiastic Bihu group, was also presented with a check of Rs 1 lakh by Dr. AK Pansari, along with books written by the Prime Minister himself.
The Royalites put on a beautiful cultural show in a program that started with the National Anthem, followed by dance forms representing all the northeastern states in honor of sportswomen. Prof. (Dr.) S,P. Singh, the vice-chancellor of the varsity, a sports enthusiast himself, wished Borgohain a belated birthday by acknowledging the hard work she had put in to pull herself together.
Borgohain spoke to Royalites thanking her for the love and encouragement she received. Reflecting on the positive vibes of the varsity, she recalls her student life and struggles to balance academics with her first love of sports. Sharing many life lessons from her journey with young students, she emphasized the role of discipline, focus, perseverance and the importance of motivation.
Continuing her speech by thanking the people of Assam for their love, she emphasized the lessons that failure teaches everyone and how momentum has taught her to reflect on her failures and overcome challenges, especially exposure. without you.
Naming American Boxer Floyd Mayweather as her role model, she said that Md. Ali had a great influence on her work.
