Assam CM ruled out new operations of Alliance Air in NE states | Media Pyro

Guwahati, Nov 2: To expand regional connectivity in the State, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday flagged off Alliance Air operations in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Mizoram. Alliance Air will operate its flights between Lilabari, Ziro, Shillong, Imphal and Mizoram, as part of the new operations.

Speaking at the virtual meeting, CM Sarma described it as an important day as Air Alliance operations will lead to air connectivity in the North-Eastern Regions.

“I see the launch of these air operations not only as an extension of the air routes, but more importantly as a future phenomenon that will greatly contribute to the development of people’s relations, tourism and business,” he said at the meeting.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, speaking on the occasion, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that due to his ‘Transport Transformation’ policy, North Eastern states have seen unprecedented development in terms of connectivity in the eight in recent years.

Sarma also said that the Prime Minister’s initiative with the help of the UDAN system, all the important cities in the North East have been brought together in the regional network system.

“Also, under his leadership, the work of the new terminal of the LGBI airport was done by the government, and the work has made significant progress. The Rupsi airport in Western Assam, which has not been operational since 1984, was built under the UDAN scheme, and built. and has been working since May last year,” the Prime Minister added.

Sarma further said that today the North East is fueling the growth of aviation in India. The industry has achieved progress that was unimaginable just a few years ago. With the UDAN plan in effect, the air traffic in the Northeast from August 2017 to August 2022 increased to 7973 flights, which is an increase of 36 percent, higher than the growth rates of the East, West, North and South.

The Minister also said that he is very confident in the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister and the Aviation Minister that Assam and the North East will get more momentum in the aviation sector in the future.

In addition, he also thanked Alliance Air for starting new flight operations in the region.

Biren Singh, CM Meghalaya Conrad Sangma, CM Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu, Director General of Alliance Air Vineet Sood attended. At the ceremony, the flags were removed from their places.

Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha, Transport Commissioner Adil Khan were also present on the occasion.
