Assam has put the rest of the North East to shame in the shooting incident | Media Pyro

Assam was the overall champion in the shooting events of the 2nd North East Olympic Games 2022, claiming 11 of the 18 gold medals on offer.

The shooting events, which took place at the Assam Regimental Center for indoor and outdoor shooting, were concluded today.

Besides the 11 gold medals, Assam also bagged 4 silver and 4 bronze. Manipur finished second with 4 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze, ahead of Meghalaya, who won 3 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze.

Mizoram earned 2 silver and 4 bronze, while Arunachal finished with no medals in this particular discipline. Sikkim, Tripura and Nagaland did not participate.

Each team fielded 16 shooters, except Arunachal, which fielded 11.

The three gold medals for the host team were won by Dennyson Kyrsian in the men’s 50m Individual Rifle Prone category; Kyrsian, Banrilang Bleine and Rajdeep Ghosh in the Men’s 50m Rifle prone event; and Anjali Singh, Veronica Buhroy and Amalisha N Sangma in the 50m Rifle Prone Team Championship.
