This conference titled “Purvottar Swabhiman Utsav” is aimed at highlighting NER’s contribution towards nation building, welcoming Veer Naris, and showcasing NE culture. “This conference will be an ideal opportunity to spread awareness about the role of the unsung heroes of NER in India’s independence struggle, the contribution of the Indian Armed Forces, and other important departments of the Government like the North East Council ( NEC), Border Roads. Organization (BRO), Assam Rifles and North-eastern Frontier Railways (NFR) towards the overall development of NER, promote integration of NER strengthen the cement of Civil-Military relationship,” said the officials.

Officials also informed that as part of the two-day conference, a panel discussion will be held at Assam Administrative Staff College, Guwahati on November 20, which will include eminent personalities including senior leaders of Assam, Manipur. , and Meghalaya and eminent speakers from Indian Army, North East Council, NF Railway and civil society will deliver enlightening talks on important contemporary issues. The brave Veer Naris of NER will also be felicitated during a special event on November 20 at Narangi Military Base. Around 100 Veer Naris are expected to attend the first-of-its-kind awareness programme.

On the second day of the summit, a mega event will be organized at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati, which will include a display of weapons/equipment and adventure activities by the Armed Forces, musical performances, cultural performances from NER , a unique music show by local pop groups, the extreme musical theater will be followed by Guwahati’s first ever Drone Show. “This mega event will be a fitting tribute to the indomitable spirit of the people of NE and will be a symbol of good cooperation among all stakeholders in NER,” the statement added.
