Kolkata: Bandhan Bank has opened a cash chest in Guwahati which will serve the northeastern region including Assam, a “key market” for the private lender.
This is the second money chest of the bank after Patna.
A statement issued by the bank said that the money chest will help in cash management of MSMEs and businessmen in the North East.
“Assam has been an important market for Bandhan Bank for many years now. Opening this cash chest is proof of our commitment to the development of Assam and the North Eastern regions of India,” said CS Ghosh, MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank.
In Assam, Bandhan Bank currently has a customer base of around 26 lakhs and a network of 472 branches.
The bank will open more than 550 new branches in India in the current financial year, of which 20 will be in Assam.
“We have earned the trust and love of more than 26 lakh customers in the state. Our significant distribution in Assam and the rest of the Northeast has made Guwahati a place other than our money chest,” Ghosh said.
