SILCHAR: The Assam police have arrested a principal and a teacher of a madrasa in Cachar district of the state after they were accused of giving ‘jihadi’ lessons to the students.

Police in Assam’s Cachar district have arrested the principal of the madrasa – Abul Hussain and assistant teacher – Dilbar Hussain in connection with the case.

The arrest of the two persons by the Assam Police is based on a complaint filed by the father of a madrasah student.

The FIR alleged that ‘jihadi’ lessons were taught in madrasas in Assam’s Cachar district.

According to the reports, the FIR alleged that religious discussions were held in the madrasa in order to radicalize the students and incite violence.

However, the madrasa authorities denied the allegations.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
