Guwahati, Nov 6 (IANS): Assam Skill University, which is being built at a cost of Rs 1000 crore by the state government, ‘Bhumi Pujan’ of this ambitious project was organized on Sunday in Mangaldoi. This will be the first of its kind in the entire northeast India.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who participated in the Bhumi Pujan, said that the Assam Skill University, once operational, will act as a catalyst for the current effort to transform Assam into one of the most advanced states in every field. the country.
Sarma, referring to it as one of the most valuable assets of the nation, noted that the upcoming vocational training center will contribute greatly to the process of nation building by preparing skilled workers and job seekers with the help of existing demand. time.
The various fields of training such as the School of Technology, the School of Design and Innovation, the School of Activism, the School of Management and Financial Training, and the School of Health Care, to name a few, will ensure that one can choose a professional training in his or her area of interest and not forced to take a course for the sake of enrolling in a formal educational institution.
Stating that skilled manpower is one of the most important requirements to attract investment, the chief said that Assam Skill University will ensure the availability of manpower that will compel major investors in the country and abroad to look at the region as one of them. the best investment areas.
“It will also provide a platform for socio-economic development and promotion of youth mobility in the region,” he added.
