MELROSE – The Melrose Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred this evening, Chief Michael L. Lyle reports.

At 7:30 p.m., police responded to the area of ​​44 Waverly Place off West Wyoming Drive for a report of a shooting.

Responding officers found two males suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower extremities. Officers immediately began rendering medical aid at the scene until paramedics arrived. The injured were taken to area hospitals by ambulance. Their condition is unknown at this time.
