Arroyo replaces Rhonda Powell in the job. Powell resigned his position to pursue other opportunities outside the company.
With more than 25 years of experience in news, cable television, digital media, and large law firms, Arroyo joined Buzzfeed in 2019. Previously, he served as senior vice president , head of global compliance at Discovery from 2018-19.
Prior to his time at Discovery, Arroyo spent 14 years at Scripps Networks Interactive as senior vice president, business and legal affairs and chief executive and chief legal officer from 2016-18; senior vice president, legal affairs and internal audit from 2014-16; senior vice president, legal affairs from 2012-14; vice president, legal affairs from 2007-12; and director, on legal matters from 2004-07.
Prior to joining Scripps Networks, he worked at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and Kirkland & Ellis, and served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge James Carr.
