Hospital staff collected his clothes as evidence and washed his hands. There was bullet residue on Pearl’s arms and inside and outside his clothing, indicating that he fired from under his shirt. His shirt was riddled with bullets, but there were no wounds on his upper body, which medical staff found odd.

Police say the shooting is connected to an ongoing feud between teenagers in Mon Valley, which has led to more than 55 separate shooting investigations.
Police say Pearl was on juvenile probation at the time of the shooting in Kennywood.
According to the judge at Pirl’s preliminary hearing, the Commonwealth had not proven its burden in the case, which led to the dismissal of the charges.
