Huntington, W.Va. (WSAES) – A man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a restaurant employee Friday, Nov. 4 in Huntington.

Christopher Brown was arraigned Thursday morning in Cabell County Magistrate Court on a charge of first degree murder.

Brown appeared in effect for the hearing from the Western Regional Jail.

No bond has been set once the charges are upgraded.

Brown was originally charged in a Nov. 4 shooting outside the Premier Pub and Grill on 4th Avenue in Huntington.

Joseph Bryan, a restaurant worker at DP Duff, was taken to hospital but died on Sunday. He was only 28 years old and had only worked at DP Dove for a few days before he was shot dead.

Huntington police also arrested the suspected driver, Gavin Bailey. Bailey waived his right to a preliminary hearing and his case will be presented to a grand jury.

Brown is due back in magistrates court on November 17 for a preliminary hearing.

ABCA has temporarily suspended Premier Pub and Grill’s license to operate until November 13 as the investigation continues.
