ADAMS RUN, SC (WCSC) — Charleston County investigators believe two shootings in the Adams Run area on Sunday are related.

The first happened around 1:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of Jupiter Hill Road, where witnesses reported that someone fired shots at a car before driving away, sheriff’s spokesman Andrew Knapp said. Bullets hit a home on Jupiter Hill Road and another home on TJ Boulevard, he said.

Both houses were occupied but no one was injured.

While deputies were investigating that shooting, they learned of a second shooting about an hour later.

In that case, the victim told deputies he was traveling in his car on Highway 174 near Highway 164 when he heard gunshots and injured his leg. The victim said he was traveling with a friend who shot at the car at the scene of the shooting on Jupiter Hill Road, Knapp said.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.

“It remains unknown whether the two incidents involved the same shooter or shooters,” Knapp said. “Deputies did not immediately make any arrests.”

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office at 843-202-1700 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111.
