DeKalb County, Ga. – A driver has been arrested after a man was shot dead and a three-year-old girl injured in an episode of road rage on Halloween.

Channel 2 Action News Surveillance video shows the moments when bullets started flying in a parking lot at the scene on Gresham Road on Monday.
Thursday, Channel 2’s Tom Regan The victim, 25-year-old Daryl Wiley, was killed in a parking lot marked by a memorial flower.

Police said the incident started with some type of anger between Wiley and the shooter, identified as 59-year-old Eric Simmons, on I-20 Monday afternoon.
Wiley’s girlfriend told police that Simmons followed them into the parking lot, got out of the car, and then shot Wiley multiple times. Wiley was pronounced dead at the scene and his girlfriend’s daughter was injured by broken glass.
Simmons was arrested Thursday and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

At the time of the shooting, Regan spoke with Jignesh Kumar Patel, who worked at a nearby liquor store.
“(I) sat in my chair, heard the gunshots, and ran to the window to see what happened,” Patel said. “I see the man lying on the floor and his wife screaming and checking on the baby.”
Alaina Holmes, who works at Goose Barbecue near the parking lot where Wylie was killed, said it was sad that his death was so senseless.
“Letting your anger get the better of you is not okay,” Holmes said.
Patel said he was glad Simmons had been caught.
Police said how they found Simmons.
