The Family Law Enforcement Council recently approved $10,000 in donations to be split equally between four legal aid agencies affected by Hurricane Ian to help with their recovery efforts. The Family Law Section donated $2,500 each to four legal aid organizations in the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Ian.
The division’s steering committee identified organizations in need, and Christopher Rumbold was assigned to visit each division to see how the division could help them in their innovation efforts.
“One of the organizations is working at FEMA’s temporary offices, because there are no offices to fall back to after the storm,” said Rumbold. “Another agency reported that their documents were damaged and needed to be replaced. Legal Aid agencies around the state are a great resource for many Florida families in need, and that’s just what we needed. to contribute in some small way to help them continue their important work.
The members of the 2022-2023 Executive Committee are Philip S. Wartenberg, chairman; Sarah E. Kay, chairman-elect; Christopher W. Rumbold, treasurer; Aimee Gross, secretary; and Heather L. Apicella, past chair.
