Guwahati: Assam Police have arrested four alleged members of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) from different places in Kamrup district, officials said on Friday.
The arrested PFI members have been identified as Nazrul Islam, resident of Gagalmari, Rafikul Islam, resident of Natun Badla, Hafijur Rahman of Palahartari under Nagarbera police station, and Saiful Islam of Tukrapara under Goroimari police station. Chaygaon police in Kamrup district.

The Center on September 27 banned the Popular Front of India (PFI), its affiliates, and associates as an illegal organization with immediate effect for five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. , 1967.
On September 27, the police arrested 25 PFI leaders and workers bringing the total number of arrests from the organization in recent days to 36 people from all over the state.
