Guwahati: The Ministry of Education The PGI has ranked Assam and Tripura at Level 4, the best among other states in the North East when it comes to school education.
PGI is a special indicator for a broad analysis of the school education system.
Arunachal Pradesh had to settle at the bottom of the list at rank 7, while Manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland were ranked 6th.
Mizoram is in Tier 5 along with five other states in the country.
The performance evaluation index (PGI) is based on 70 indicators and two categories with five components.
The score is the sum of the points in the five categories of educational attainment which include Access, Learning Outcomes, Equity, Administrative Process and Infrastructure and Facilities.
No state in India can achieve the highest level of Level 1.
