Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has started shooting for her upcoming film Emergency in Assam. The film is her second directorial debut after the 2019 release of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. The actress had earlier traveled to the state to scout for locations such as Kaziranga and Karbi Anglong.
On Wednesday, the actress took to the stories section of her Instagram to share a picture from the set of the film and captioned it: “Working night in Assam.”
In the photo, she can be seen sitting in the video village looking at the monitor of Lilliput while dressed in heavy winter clothes.
‘Emergency’, helmed by Kangana Ranaut, will also see her essay the role of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. This film will tell about the biggest political event in India when a state of emergency was imposed on Gandhi who was then the Prime Minister.
The 21-month State of Emergency was in effect between 1975 and 1977, and was officially declared by President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed under Article 352 of the Constitution due to “internal violence”. It was withdrawn on March 21, 1977.
