STORY: CBS is developing a two-part drama series from Aaron Carew, writer and executive producer of The CW’s Wired.
Carew is working Carving Lawa legal drama, and Guardian, for the LA National Guard, for the network. Both series come from CBS Studios and Carew is writing and directing both.
Carving Law follows the collision of a wealthy bachelor and his legal twin as they tackle high-profile clients and criminal gangs throughout Los Angeles through their family’s black-and-white law firm. .
Martin Lawrence is a producer along with Rae Proctor, Stacy Lyles and Rob Lawrence as well as Derrick Johnson, CEO of the NAACP, a production partner with the studio, Sheila Ducksworth and Leon Russell.
The Watcher follows a civilian unit of the LA National Guard who deal with emotional problems beyond the scope of first responders and law enforcement.
DeVon Franklin, who runs Franklin Entertainment, also has work at the studio and is also producing. Franklin is an executive producer of BET’s Business Ownership and executive produced the CBS pilot Previous article.
Carew’s other credits include the second season of Dirty Johnaired on USA Network, and Spectrum’s LA’s best, Starz’ Power Form IV: Power and a series for Apple TV+.
Prior to his work in film and television, Aaron joined the United States Army for seven years, completing two tours in Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division, where he received several medals and honors issued as Sergeant.
