To the Editor,
I am writing in response to Martha A. Nest’s letter. As a non-person, she is not a fund holder for the Democratic executive committee and president of the Nelson County Democratic women’s club. Obviously, you know Amelia Clements better than I do. I want to ask you a few questions so I can understand. Don’t you think voters should know where the candidates stand on moral and legal issues? Doesn’t that give us a better idea of their character and see if it aligns with our beliefs and values? You can understand our concern when we receive a camera that looks like this:
- Eric Shelburne—For NC Executive Judge
- Tracey Bonzo—For NC PVA
- Steve Campbell—For NC Jailer
- Field Houghlin—For NC Coroner
- Brent Brey—For the 4th Judicial District
- Vote NO on Amendment No. 2, and your right to choose your own medicine will be taken away and left to the Government.
Not all Democrats running for congressional office are on the list. What can we think?
In your letter you said to delete the information. This is the definition of speech: “The art of speaking or persuasive speech or writing. Especially the use of quotation marks and other compositional techniques. Language is designed to have the power to persuade or impress the audience, but is often perceived as lacking sincerity or meaningful content. This is similar to the letter you wrote and the mailer sent by your committee.
A concerned voter, Amelia Clements wrote a letter asking the candidates to explain their positions, so that we can all make good decisions based on our values, and you call it a speech. Does your letter and letter carriers include your name? Truth is sufficient unto itself. It doesn’t need fancy words, ideas or threads. Just be honest, please. The truth is, abortion, the killing of unborn babies, as you said in your letter, is a big money business for a lot of people, including the Democratic party and the Master Plan. It’s not just for women. If we are women, we have many other options that we can get behind, regardless of the budget. It will help people and glorify God. But it’s not very popular with a culture that has banished God from everything, glorifies sin of all kinds, and has no regard for human life. Jesus died to save all people. This includes the unborn.
