Authorities have arrested one of the suspects in last month’s shooting outside the Long Island home of New York’s Republican nominee for governor, Republican Lee Seldin.

Seldin held a press conference Tuesday afternoon to announce the arrest of 18-year-old Noah Green, who police say was one of the people involved in the shooting. Seldin said the gun used in the shooting was also recovered.

Green is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property. He is being held on a $1.5 million bond and a $7.5 million secured bond, Seldin said.

He is due back in court on Friday.

“It’s important to note that this is the gun that was used in the shooting, not necessarily the shooter,” Seldin said. “The investigation is still ongoing.”

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and the Suffolk County Police Department worked together to investigate the shooting.

“Through cooperative and diligent police work, we have now recovered one of the firearms used in the fatal shooting,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said in a statement Tuesday. “The investigation is ongoing and we expect more developments in the future.”

On Oct. 9, shots rang out outside Seld’s Long Island home, and her two 16-year-old daughters were inside. At the time, the Department of Bronx Columbus Day Parade was held at Seldin Morris Park. Her daughters were locked in the bathroom when she called 911 after hearing gunshots.

Seldin said one of the bullets landed only 30 feed from his two daughters. According to Seldin, the two men who were injured in the shooting were “lying under my front porch and under the bushes in front of our porch.”

Two teenagers were injured in a drive-by shooting on Seldin Street, the Suffolk County Police Department said in a statement.

Three teenagers were walking down Seldin Street when a man in a dark-colored SUV fired multiple shots through the car window at 2:19 p.m., injuring two 17-year-old males. Both men tried to hide in the yard of Seldin’s residence after being shot.

A third teenager fled the scene, the police department said.

Two 17-year-old males were injured and taken to a local hospital Non-life threatening injuries.

Zeldin said her daughters were shaken but OK.
